Mounjaro's active ingredient, Tirzepatide, works by imitating the effects of two naturally occurring hormones, GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide). These are the hormones that your body uses to regulate hunger and blood sugar. 

It stimulates insulin release when blood sugar is high, reduces glucagon secretion to prevent excessive glucose production and slows the rate at which food leaves the stomach, so you end up feeling full for longer and naturally eat less.
